Laser vascular closure – effective removal of vascular lesions

Vascular lesions are formed by often troublesome dilated blood vessels visible on the surface of the skin. . The most common include the so-called spider veins (telangiectasias), erythema, cherry angiomas or lesions associated with rosacea. These lesions can appear on the face, décolleté, lower extremities and other parts of the body. They form due to numerous causes – from genetic predisposition, hormonal factors, UV radiation, sudden temperature changes, to the natural aging process of the skin.

Introduction

At DAGDERM clinics, laser vascular closure is carried out by qualified cosmetologists and dermatologists with extensive experience in working with the latest laser technologies. We guarantee professionalism, safety and an individual approach to each patient.

What does laser vascular closure involve?

Laser vascular closure is a modern and effective method of removing vascular lesions. During the procedure, a specialized laser light beam is precisely directed at the affected vessel. The laser energy is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood, leading to coagulation and subsequent closure of the vessel wall. After some time, the capillary is naturally absorbed by the body and is no longer visible.

What lesions can be removed with a laser?

Laser vascular closure is particularly effective for:

  • telangiectasias (vascular spider veins)
  • erythema on the face
  • cherry angiomas
  • rosacea (without inflammatory lesions)
  • photodamage to the skin

What does the procedure look like?

The treatment takes between 20 and 60 minutes, depending on the size and number of lesions and the treatment area. It usually does not require anesthesia. The patient may feel a slight burning, pinching or gentle stinging sensation. For optimal results, it is recommended to perform a series of 3-5 treatments at intervals of 4-6 weeks.

What are the recommendations after the procedure?

Post-procedure instructions:

  • Avoid sun exposure for at least 6 weeks
  • Use SPF 50+ sunscreens
  • Avoid saunas, hot baths and intense exercise for several days

What are the contraindications to laser vascular closure?

What are the contraindications to laser vascular closure?

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Fresh tan
  • Skin infections at the treatment site
  • Taking photosensitizing drugs
  • Some autoimmune diseases

What are the treatment effects?

The first effects are visible after about 3 weeks. For individual blood vessels, the effect is permanent, but new lesions may appear in predisposed individuals, requiring further treatments.
